Situated in an iconic octagonal building constructed in the early 1900’s, the challenge was to make the brand fresh and fun whilst retaining the heritage of the building and surrounding gardens. After several trips to the site my attention was drawn to the location – next to the children’s playground and the pond. Both popular duck-hangout areas with a steer towards parents and kids. This gave way to the name 'duck.duck', the spot between the ducks.
The octagonal dot in the middle represents the cafés location and structure. This inspired the design of the logo, signage and collateral for the café, all of which feature splashes of bright duck yellow and iconography that brought a storytelling appeal to the venue and packaging.
