EXPERIENTIAL & BRANDING

LOT 55

This café, previously known as The Tuck Shop, is situated in the front foyer of an arena venue. I was asked to create a brand and design the space that would allow the café stand-out from the arena, become a go-to meeting place for local residents and businesses, and be easily tucked away or incorporated when events were being held.

In response I used the location as inspiration. Based in a large carpark at No.55 Jack Hinton road, the name Lot 55 was a memorable fit. The giant cement columns and high ceilings gave way to an industrial look and feel. We built large bookcases to divide the space, giving privacy and adding function throughout. The cases also allowed us to dictate which areas were for children, adults and business meetings based on their contents. At night when needed these became drink stations or got tucked away.
